Description
“Lifeblood of the Han” reflects the life-giving force of the Yukon for those who live along its shores, especially the displaced Han people. The mist and low clouds depict the mystery as well as the struggles of living along this isolated and majestic river. But the breaks in the clouds signify that there is always a new dawn, whatever the struggles that day-to-day life might bring. The view is looking upriver from the city of Eagle toward where Eagle Village once stood, with the river stretching away toward the Ogilvey Mountains in nearby Yukon Territory.
